Traditional Use: Horsetail has been used to treat wounds for centuries due to its high silicon content, aiding overall rejuvenation and tissue regeneration, restoring strength and elasticity (internally and externally), as well as assisting the healing of sprains and fractures.
Horsetail has both diuretic and anti-inflammatory effect and it is known to help ease the pain and reduce the swelling around painful joints.
The anti-inflammatory, diuretic and antibiotic properties of Horsetail have made it useful in conditions of the genitourinary tract.
Today, Horsetail tea is recommended for general wellbeing and to promote healing, as a complementary remedy for genito-urinary disorders, bladder inflammation, renal stones, prostate problems and incontinence, for healthy skin, hair and nails and as a traditional remedy for spurs.
Use the tea (infusion) both internally and externally, as needed.
The average traditional daily dose is 6 grams herb internally or 10g herb externally.
