Botanical Name: Collinsonia canadensis. Stone root has a long history of use as a medicine for a large variety of conditions. Today. Stone root is used to treat urinary tract problems including bladder pain and swelling (inflammation), stones in the kidney and elsewhere in the urinary tract, and excess uric acid in the urine. Stone root works well in combination with other herbs with similar indications or additional beneficial effects in the presence of kidney or gall bladder stones, such as Gravel root and Uva ursi. Stone root decoction or extract may also be used to increase urine flow to relieve water retention (edema).
