Horse Chestnut seeds crushed (Aesculus hippocastanum), organic.
Horse chestnut is a tall tree native to the Balkans, but is now found in diverse parts of Europe, as well as North America. Horse chestnut seeds have astringent constituents, helping to tone the vein walls which, when slack or distended, may become varicose, hemorrhoidal or otherwise problematic. Horse chestnut seeds also reduce fluid retention associated with varicose veins by increasing the permeability of the capillaries and allowing the re-absorption of excess fluid back into the circulatory system. Horse chestnut seeds extract (HCSE) is widely used in Europe and is becoming increasingly popular in North America as well, for the management of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI).
