Traditional Fluid Extract of Siberian Gingeng Root, Eleutherococcus senticosus, in Ethanol and Purified Water.

Scientific Name: Eleutherococcus senticosus

Main Pharmacological Actions:

• Adaptogenic
• Antioxidant
• Chemoprotective
• Immunomodulator & Immune stimulant
• Hepatoprotective (protects the liver)
• Hypertensive (raises blood pressure when low)
• Hypoglycemic (lowers blood sugar)

Natural Constituents:

• Glycosides: Eleutherosides - responsible for increased resistance to stress, antioxidant cell protection
• Polysaccharides (eleutherans A through G) - have blood sugar lowering and immunostimulating effect
• Triterpenoid saponins (Ciwujianosides)
• Phytosterols (beta-sitosterol)
• Coumarins (isofraxidin)
• Nutrients: Vitamin E, beta-carotene

Recommended Dose: 15-20 drops in the morning, lunch, and at noon to match the adrenal gland rhythm. Do not take late at night or for longer than 10-14 consecutive days.

Safety & Toxicity Concerns:

High doses may cause palpitations, insomnia, hypertension and tachycardia.
Best to avoid in children and those that are nervous, tense, manic, during the acute phase of infections
Use caution in autoimmune disease due to Immunostimulant effects. Do not use during pregnancy and lactation.

Interactions:

Avoid use with other stimulants, alcohol, barbiturates, anti-psychotics, and anticoagulants.
Diabetics should monitor blood glucose levels and adjust medication accordingly, due to the reported hypoglycemic effects in animals.
May increase plasma drug levels of digoxin.
