HCG stands for Human chorionic gonadotropin, a hormone promoting the development and release of eggs during ovulation and supporting the development of the embrio after conception. HCG must be taken twice a day, every 12 hours, in the morning and at night, for either 21, 30, or 40 days. The exact length of the treatment period is determined by the number of kilograms one needs to lose to be within the normal range for his or her age.
