Description: Fluid Extract of the bark of Californian Buckthorn, also known as Sacred Bark or Cascara Sacrada, Rhamnus purshianus, in Ethanol and Purified water.
Use: Traditionally used as a laxative. Cascara Sagrada is a mild laxative, acting principally on the large intestine. It is considered suitable for delicate and elderly persons, and may with advantage be given in chronic constipation, being generally administered in the form of the fluid extract.
Recommended Dose: 15 drops at bedtime.
Contraindications: Not recommended for children or during pregnancy, in the presence of inflammatory bowel disease or intestinal blockage, and for prolonged period. If unsure if suitable, please ask your doctor or contact one of our practitioners.
