Mucuna pruriens, commonly known as Velvet Bean, has been used in the traditional Ayurvedic system in India for thousands of years. Mucuna is traditionally used as an aphrodisiac and research suggests it may increase sperm count and imrove fertility. Mucuna pruriens contains L-Dopa and increases Dopamine levels in the brain and this effect may be positive in some conditions and negative in others.
