Newtons' Herbal Blend for Fibroids and Endometriosis
A blend of herbal extracts, traditionally used in various cultures as folk medicines and supported by modern research for Endometriosis and Fibroids.
Ingredients: Herbal extracts of Chaste tree, Wild yam, Scullcap, Pennyroyal, Ladies Mantle, Goldenseal, Thuja and Violet
Mechanism of Action: Endometriosis is the presence of uterine tissue outside its usual location on the inner lining of the uterus, often characterized by lower abdominal pain and longer periods with excessive blood loss. Both Endometriosis and Fibroids call for herbs promoting hormonal balance, reducing muscle cramping, pain and blood loss and toning the uterus. Medicinal plants and botanical products are now commonly used for managing the symptoms of numerous gynecologic disorders, including endometriosis. Medicinal plants and their active compounds have displayed antiproliferative, antioxidant, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory properties. These properties may help in managing endometriosis and our practitioners can prepare a suitable blend following consultation.
Pain is the most serious concern in this condition, and therefore its management has great significance. Herbalists use herbal painkillers for the pelvis and the abdomen. These herbs include Cimicifuga racemosa (Black cohosh), Viburnum opulus (Crampbark), Matricaria chamomilla (Chamomile), Corydalis sp., Pulsatilla sp, Angelica sinensis (Dong-Quai) , Zingiber officinale (Ginger), and Dioscorea villosa (Wild Yam), generally used for cramps, sharp and dull pains, and drawing pains in the lower back and thighs.
The endometrium is composed of glandular tissue scattered with endometrial stroma, similar to lymphoid tissue. Herbs traditionally used to recover lymphatic circulation and bring benefits in endometriosis, include Calendula officinalis, Echinacea, Galium aparine (Cleavers), and Phytolacca americana. (Poke root).
Centella asiatica (Gotu kola) is usually added to the blend for its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial as it helps in recovery after the surgery.
Alchemilla vulgaris (Ladies Mantle) has astringent and anti-inflammatory properties and it is used to reduce of blood loss due to excessive bleeding.
