Traditional Use: The traditional use of Blue Flag Root is based on the belief that it stimulates liver metabolism, bile production, the lymphatic flow and the elimination of toxins, thus helps digestion and constipation. It helps blood purification and may clear up skin conditions such as acne, eczema, or dermatitis, associated with sluggish liver and chronic accumulation of toxins. Also beneficial in spleen enlargement and may assists weight loss loss through its effects on metabolism and the relief of water retention and constipation.
Contraindications: Not recommended to use for children, or in pregnancy and lactation. Blue flag preparations can irritate the stomach and intestines and should not be used by anyone with ulcerative colitis or Crohn disease.
