Newtons Propolis Ointment

10% Propolis extract in a natural Beeswax and Lanolin Ointment base - rich traditional balm recommended for cracked dry skin and when protective layer is needed.

Propolis is the adhesive resinous compound produced by honeybees (Apis mellifera).  The ethanol extract (tincture) of propolis is a rich source of antioxidants, flavonoids and phenolic compounds to reduce free radical damage to body cells and support immune system health.

Traditional Use: People have used propolis as a medicine since the year 300 BC. Ancient Egyptians used propolis for embalming, and some doctors used it during World War II to help with wound healing.

A credible 2019 review suggests that propolis extract may have the following properties:

• antibacterial
• antifungal
• antiviral
• antiprotozoal, which means that it works against parasitic illnesses, such as giardiasis
• anti-inflammatory
• antioxidant
