Propolis Extract (strong) in Ethanol and Purified Water

Propolis is the adhesive resinous compound produced by honeybees (Apis mellifera).  The ethanol extract (tincture) of propolis is a rich source of antioxidants, flavonoids and phenolic compounds to reduce free radical damage to body cells and support immune system health.

Traditional Use: People have used propolis as a medicine since the year 300 BC. Ancient Egyptians used propolis for embalming, and some doctors used it during World War II to help with wound healing.

A credible 2019 review suggests that propolis extract may have the following properties:

• antibacterial
• antifungal
• antiviral
• antiprotozoal, which means that it works against parasitic illnesses, such as giardiasis
• anti-inflammatory
• antioxidant

Applied topically, the extract  has shown multiple biological properties including significant antifungal and anti-biofilm activities. The results of a clinical trial indicated that "Propolis Extract is a promising natural compound for fungal nail infections, due to its ability to penetrate the nail without cytotoxicity, and its good antifungal performance against species such as Trichophyton spp. that are resistant to conventional antifungals".
