Lugol's Iodine Half Strength Solution

Description: Aqueous Iodine Solution, B.P. The half strength Lugols iodine solution contains 2.5% iodine and 5% potassium iodide in purified water. Two drops contains 6.25mg of iodine.

Use: This product is sold mostly for the purpose of drinking water purification and skin/wound cleansing. It may also be compounded as an iconomic iodine supplement in defficiency and in Gersons therapy protocols (under ptactitioner's supervision).  If your tests results show that you are iodine deficient, your doctor may recommend a loading dose of  6 drops a day for one to three months (depending on the cause and the severity of the defficiency), followed by a maintenance dose of 1-2 drops daily but only if so needed and recommemded by a doctor. Iodine levels must be monitored if high doses are being used for longer periods as elevated iodine levels can be harmful. We have attached a poison warning label because Iodine is toxic in high dose and because our practitioners do not recommend self treatment with Lugol's iodine without medical supervision.
