Homoeopathic Ergot (Secale cornutum)

The homeopathic tincture Secale is made from the shoots of the rye plant (Secale cornutum) that enclose Ergot, a toxic fungus(Claviceps purpurea) growing on the grains collected immediately prior to the harvesting.

In Homeopathy, secale (ergot) is used for the symtoms of ergot poisoning (ergotism), according to the homeopathic principle that likes cure likes.

Some of the medicinal properties of ergot have been recognised by mainstream pharma and there are currently a several pharmaceutical drugs developed from Claviceps purpurea.

It is interesting to note that the same fungus, Claviceps purpurea, was the unusual source from which LSD was isolated for the first time.

Homeopathy is controversial as it uses highly diluted biological, botanical, or mineral substances to stimulate the body's own defence to deal with the symptoms and causes and recover. It is the safest natural stimulation of the defence systems of the body and has no contraindications, adverse drug reactions or the risk of drug interactions.

For indications and dosage, please refer to your homeopathic practitioner or Materia Medica.

Please note that if the chosen potency is not currently available you will be notified with further information.
