Description: Traditional Fluid Extract of the root of the European Pasqueflower (Pasque flower), Pulsatilla vulgaris in 60% ethanol and purified water. 

Pulsatilla has a long history of use as a traditional medicine of Europe and Asia and is considered a highly valued curative by herbal practitioners worldwide. The roots and leaves are rich in a range of biologically active compounds, including saponins and glycosides, with a wide spectrum of activity, most notably antimicrobial, antispasmodic, diuretic, expectorant, nervine and sedative. It is used internally in the treatment of pre-menstrual syndrome, inflammations of the reproductive organs, tension headaches, neuralgia, insomnia, hyperactivity, bacterial skin infections, septicaemia, spasmodic coughs in asthma, whooping cough and bronchitis. Externally, it is used to treat eye conditions such as diseases of the retina, senile cataract and glaucoma.

Warnings: Pulsatilla extract should only be used under professional care. Pulsatilla may trigger skin and mucous membrane irritation in some people and may cause diarrhoea and vomiting in excessive dose. Do not use in pregnancy or nursing. 

In homeopathy Pulsatilla 6X is used against migraine disorders, vertigo, neuralgic pain, venous stasis (Gottwald and Weiser, 2000).In homeopathy, the plant is considered to be specific in the treatment of measles. It is also used for treating nettle rash, toothache, earache and bilious indigestion
