Dried Loose Organic Aerial Parts of Heart's Ease (Heartsease, Pansy), Viola Tricolor.

Traditional Medicinal Use: The tea is considered as a blood purifier, of benefit in skin problems (acne, eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, itching). Due to its expectorant properties, it is recognized as beneficial in bronchitis, asthma and whooping cough. It is also known to have diuretic effect and therefore may aid in relieving the swelling in arthritis and rheumatism. Due to salicylic acids, the plant has some anti-inflammatory properties. Chinese healers use the plant to soften certain tumors (breast cancer, lung and gastrointestinal cancers). Heartsease has also shown to be very helpful in lowering the blood pressure and reduction of painful urination.

Safety: Some individuals may be allergic to heartsease products and should not use this remedy, particularly in the presence of asthma. Also, heartsease products should not be taken with prescription diuretics without the advice of a medical doctor or pharmacist.
