Mentha Spicata Dried Herb and Tea
Traditionally used as stimulant, anti-spasmotic, and carminative tea. A flavouring and culinary herb, very similar in pharmacological action and uses to peppermint (Mentha piperita).
Different studies have reported the analgesic effects of the essential oil of Spearmint due to its main abundant compounds such as carvone, limonene and menthol.
Recent studies have shown that a few cups of the tea daily are beneficial in hirsuitism (male pattern hair growth) in women.Hirsutism in polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), consequent to elevated androgen levels leads to significant cosmetic and psychological problems. Recent research in Turkey has shown that spearmint tea has antiandrogenic properties in females with hirsutism.
