Description: A topical herbal application that may help soften and protect the skin and reduce the size and visibility of sunspots.
Ingredients: Extracts of Devil's apple, Chaparral and Rue with Hemp Seed Oil and Vitamin E in Beeswax / Lanolin Ointment Base.
The poisonous Devil's apple (Solanum linnaeanum) has been shown to be beneficial for some skin conditions. The main active ingredients of the fruits and flowers of this family of plants are a group of glycosides, traditionally known to help improve the appearance of sun-damaged skin.
Apply topically two to three times a day. If the condition persists, please visit your doctor.
Caution: Test for hypersensitivity on a small area to exclude the possibility of allergic reaction to any of the ingredients.
Historical Information: The applications of devil's apple was tested and patented in the early 1980s by Bill Cham, who was then a medical researcher at the University of Queensland. Cham, who developed a cream made from the devil's apple flower, followed up anecdotal evidence from livestock owners that the growth of skin lesions had slowed down or cleared up in horses and cattle that ate the weed. Farmers were also known to rub the sap of the fruit to repair sunspots.Ref: Planta Med. 2012 Mar;78(4):349-53. doi: 10.1055/s-0031-1298149. Epub 2012 Jan 13.
