The mother tincture is not recommended to take internally.
Symphytum officinale, commonly known as comfrey, constitutes a traditional medicinal plant with a long-standing therapeutic history, and preparations thereof have been widely used for the treatment of painful muscle and joint complaints, wound and bone healing, and inflammation.
As a traditional herbal remedy, the tincture of Comfrey is used as dressing solution and applied topically to speed up the physical healing of bones and to relieve bone pain due to fractures, sprains or dental work and it is believed to be of benefit in the elderly when fractures are not healing.
