Description: 

Saturated Solution of Potassium Iodide containing 1g Potassium Iodide per mil (1 g/ml)

Use: 

SSKI has numerous applications but its use as a medicine should be supervised by your doctor.

Potassium iodide is commonly used to protect the thyroid gland from injury due to radiation. Potassium iodide is also used as an expectorant in acute and chronic pulmonary diseases with excessive mucus. SSKI is valued as a topical treatment in a range of infectious and inflammatory skin conditions.

Contraindications:

Potassum iodide is contraindicated in cases of previous thyroid diseases such as hypo or hyperthyroidism, presence of nodules and thyroid cancer, and in pregnancy and lactation.
