Documented traditional use: As with most herbal remedies lime flowers have a multiplicity of applications.
In action they are diaphoretic (induces perspiration), antispasmodic and expectorant and as such are used, often in conjunction with other herbs, as a nerve tonic, for the treatment of catarrh and indigestion, and for the alleviation of headaches.
Used to promote perspiration and lower the temperature in colds and influenza, lower the blood pressure, relieve tension and anxiety and aid sleep, calms restless and excitable children and reduces muscle tension.
Linden blossom makes a good remedy for conditions associated with tension including headaches, period pains, colic and cramps.
