Fluid Extract of Bearberry, Arctostaphylos uva ursi, in ethanol and purified water
The herbal leaf extract has a long history of use in traditional Native American medicine as a diuretic and a treatment for urinary tract infections, painful urination, and kidney stones.
Most of the therapeutic activity of Uva ursi are due to the biologically active compound arbutin. Uva ursi extract may relieve pain and inflammation in the bladder or urinary tract and prevent harmful bacteria from growing, supporting a healthy bacteria balance.
Recommendation: Combine with Cranberry Juice and other antibacterial diuretic herbs as in Newton's Kidney Cleanse and Newtons' Cystitis Drops. Use as complementary aid to treatment. Not recommended for use over periods longer than 2 weeks. If the symptoms persist, seek medical help
Contraindications: Uva ursi is not recommended for children, during pregnancy and lactation or in the presence of intestinal, liver, or kidney diseases.
For maximal therapeutic results, modern herbalists use blend of herbs with multiple beneficial effects on the same organ or system. Uva ursi is a common ingredient in herbal blends targetting the genito-urinary system, kidney stones and prostate problems and works well with other diuretic and antibacterial herbs such as buchu, cleavers, and cornsilk. For more information or for custom made combination, please contact Newton's pharmacy.
Warning:
