Migraine

Compounded Migraine Treatments:

Combination Capsules: One highly effective OTC medication is a capsule dosage containing ketoprofen 12.5 mg, riboflavin 100 mg, and caffeine citrate 100 mg.  This combination offers pain relief through multiple mechanisms.

Custom Formulations: There are many combinations of migraine medication ingredients that are possible in different dosages. We frequently work with doctors who are looking for a specific migraine treatment  that's not commercially available.

Common Ingredients Used:

Anti-inflammatories:

  • Ketoprofen (topical gels or oral capsules)
  • Other NSAIDs in custom strengths

  • Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) - 100mg doses commonly used
  • Magnesium compounds
  • Coenzyme Q10

Caffeine:

  • Caffeine citrate - often combined with other ingredients for enhanced effectiveness

Prescription Combinations:

  • Custom triptan formulations
  • Anti-nausea medications combined with pain relievers
  • Antiemetic (anti-nausea) medication, such as Ondansetron, Prochlorperazine or Maxolon

Important Note: While some nutritional combinations might be available without prescription, most effective migraine compounds require a doctor's prescription. Compounding pharmacies frequently work with doctors who are looking for a specific migraine treatment

The advantage of compounding is creating personalized combinations and strengths that aren't available commercially.
