Description: Dried flowering tops of European broom, Cytisus scoparius.
Traditional Use: Broom is known to slow down the heart, raise the blood pressure, and help relieve fluid retention and it is traditionally used in conditions of fast and irregular heart beat.
Its active constituents act on the electrical conductivity of the heart, slowing and regulating the transmission of the impulses. Other uses: prevention of blood loss after childbirth.
Warnings: The flowering tops of the broom tree are poisonous if ingested. Do not take if you suffer from high blood pressure, kidney disease, in pregnancy or if breast feeding.
